Ong-Bok: Thai Warrior is full of great fighting and acrobatic scenes, Tony Jaa is amazing. My favorite fight scene from this movie however is the first four seconds of this "montage clip" but it cuts out the crowd's reaction, which is probably the best part.
The rest of the movie is worth watching because they actaully made Muay Thai (or Muay Boran to be nit picky) fun to watch. Way more fun than any of the Kickboxer movies.
They somehow made this very brutal and ugly martial art pretty.
They Live! That scene is hilarious Ben!
For a gory one, The Warden VS Ricky from "Story of Ricky" is pretty sweet. The warden suits-off like a mongoloid Hulk. He goes out like a thousand gallons of tropical punch kool-aid.
Ricky's mullet rules too. Extra points.
GYMKATA is beautiful! I have two copies in giant, taped-up VHS boxes! But forget the fighting, I always loved it when that fucker had a face on the back of his head in the town of crazies! Haha!
Keeping on subject, I think a good fight scene is Robocop vs. ED-209. Classic David and Goliath. Although I find it incredible that Dick Jones, who had all the resources of OCP and the criminal community of Old Detroit, put so much of his Robocop destroying faith into a barely functioning chunk of shit like that. Those damn things HAD to be expensive, but apparently all they were good for was killing Mr. Kinney in the middle of a staff meeting.
That's pretty elaborate when you consider that Dick didn't even put in that kind of effort into killing his rival Bob Morton! But after pissing away millions on giant attack robots and new suits, he probably didn't have a lot left. Just enough for Clarence Boddicker to deliever a grenade and DVD.
Brian and I always talk about the scene where Clarence takes out Bob Morton. It's a tough scene to watch in that, you're supposed to hate Morton as this sleazy young upsmart. Yet you hate Dick even more. So you somehow find yourself not wanting Clarence to kill Morton. And the way Clarence does it is so frustrating and sadistic.... sticking out his tongue as he pulls the pin from the grenade. Then, when Morton tries to grab it, but his legs are all shot up. And it rolls off the coffee table!
GAHHH!!!!
Anyway, getting back to the fights, here's one that Brian James reminded me of. It's easily one of the most realistic fight scenes I've ever seen filmed... not to mention one of the most brutal. Watch till the end.
DEADWOOD - DAN VS. 'THE CAPTAIN'
I had the DEADWOOD fight between Dan and Cap'n Turner on my list. Well done!
Deadwood - Best show ever.
A fun fact: The galoot who played Captain Turner (Allan Graf) was actually in ROBOCOP, too! Remember Sal, the guy that ran the cocaine lab? Captain Turner was one of his henchmen. Another example of something not doing it's job right in ROBOCOP; where the Hell was the Captain when Clarence dunked his fingers in Sal's wine?
Clarence snorting Sal's wine - Best scene in ROBOCOP.
As far as who to hate more between Clarence, Dick, and Morton - none! I loved them all! I hated the Old Man and that pussy black executive who made it to all the sequels. I live in Flint (Ugh!) about 70 miles from Old Detroit. I WISH that OCP would take shit over and create Delta City. Then I'd feel better about trolling for bitches up and down Woodward in my 6000 SUX.
Time to give this thread its due 'bump.' Here's the final fight scene from one of my favorite movies: Walter Hill's "Hard Times." It stars Charles Bronson and James Coburn. Check out how ripped Bronson was back in the day. Total, silent badass.
THE NAKED SNOW FIGHT FROM "SEX & FURY"! Perfect choreography and it has a lot of the same elements Q-T used for the O-REN fight in Kill Bill V.1.

funky trailer:
What's your favorite fight scene in film and why?
My first choice would be from Chan-wook Park's 2003 masterpiece Old Boy, one because it involves a claw-hammer a takes place in the confines of a hallway full of, I don't know, a dozen dudes and two because once the fight begins, it is an unbroken shot until the fight ends approxametely three full minutes later (check it out below).
So what are your picks?
